Sharp Corporation (hereinafter "Sharp") filed damage lawsuits for patent infringement in the District Court Munich I and District Court Mannheim against Guangdong OPPO Mobile Telecommunications Corp., Ltd (hereinafter "OPPO", Head Office: People’s Republic of China) on March 6, 2020, and also Sharp filed damage lawsuits for patent infringement in the Tokyo District Court against OPPO Japan (Head Office: Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, Japan) on March 6 and 9, 2020. Sharp alleges that OPPO and OPPO Japan infringe several of its LTE patents related to communication technologies implemented in smartphones.

Sharp views its patent portfolio as a major resource for its business development. Sharp will take necessary actions to protect its intellectual property rights.
